Debt decisions need a cooling period

Many borrowing decisions happen when emotion is high: urgency, embarrassment, excitement or fear of missing out. A 48-hour pause gives the practical brain time to return.

Ask three questions

What problem does this debt solve? What monthly payment remains comfortable? What cash reserve remains after the decision?

Compare the cost of waiting

Sometimes waiting is expensive or impractical. Often, waiting reveals a cheaper option, a smaller purchase or a better repayment plan.

The pause is not a refusal

The point is not to avoid all debt. The point is to borrow when the decision still makes sense after the emotional spike fades.
